Good turn-up today with 20 bowlers on the rinks. This included a number of ladies which is great.

The taxman might be putting some pressure on Gary Reed as he and his playing partner David Hislop cleaned up again. Well played guys.

Competition was very keen as second place could not be split. Peter Dann with Barry Ramm  tied with Wendy Chester and Bob Davis.

Once again we experienced a cold showery Monday afternoon. Six pairs of mixed players enjoyed some fun bowls over 18 ends of  2 x 4 x 2 format.

Third place was a very good game. Maureen Walker partnered Ken Mellor and Graeme Noakes playing with Charlie Van Herk. The result was a well deserved tie after a good tussle for the points.

In second place Peter Dann and Peter Parsons stumbled across the line by 1 shot. After only 7 ends they were 18 to 1 shots up. The underdogs Irene Van Herk and Malcolm Beermier began their fightback and went into the final end 2 shots down. Whilst holding 2 shots for a tie, Peter Dann managed to split them and held on to a 1 point win.

Winners today were Bill Walker and club stalwart Brian Williams. Gary Reed and partner Pas Di Florio were no match for the winners losing 23 to 6. There were three sets of red bowls in this game so I trust they were counted correctly!! This had to be Gary and Pas’s largest losing margin for quite some time. Well done to Bill and Brian who always put in consistant efforts.

Graeme displaying 4 shots against Maureen with 2 ends to play.

Gary and Brian checking the damage with the last 4 bowls to come.

Cold and wet day. A handful of “die-hards” turned up and a bit of practice amongst themselves.

July 9 2018 Results

15 men turned up on a perfect afternoon for bowls. This number suited 5 teams of 3 for a game of scroungers over 16 ends.  We then were grouped to play 6 ends with the five winners to play in the first place final. The 5 seconds played together and so with the 5 thirds.

Winners of the thirds was BRIAN WILLIAMS.

Winner of the seconds was PAS DI FLORIO

And the overall winner of the day was MALCOLM BEERMIER.

A very enjoyable afternoon.

Enjoying some social time after the game

A good turn-up on a fantastic calm sunny afternoon. (Better than mowing the lawn!!)

Winners were Charlie Van Herk and Don Campbell.  They must have bowled extremely well as they won by a very large margin.

Runner up was Malcolm Beermier partnered by new member Wayne Morgan who was just playing his 5th game ever. (He beat one of his coaches) Well played Wayne.
