Port Bouvard Recreation & Sporting Club 2018 - 2019 Open Day2018 - 2019 Opening Day Sunday 9th September 2018

Lawn Bowls is a prominent sport within the operation of Port Bouvard Recreation & Sporting Club Inc. The Bowling Club is one of many clubs in the area whose Bowls WA umbrella body is the Murray Districts Bowling League.

Three synthetic greens cater for a variety of both social and competition evens across men’s, ladies and mixed bowls. Whilst summer is the main competition season, a variety of events are available to those who wish to play during the winter also.

There are several organised mixed social events held during the summer months and are usually played on a Sunday. For those interested in taking up the game, a “no obligation six weeks” of coaching with bowls supplied, is available on Friday mornings.

New Life Member Mr Bob Court was given the honour of rolling down the opening bowl of our new season in front of an excellent attendance of 60 bowlers.

16 ends of mixed 4’s bowlers played on a very pleasant Sunday afternoon. This seasons initial winners are Peter Hutton and his well credentialed team of Brian Smith, Kevin Edwards and Kath Coleman. The margin of 22 points was not a reflection of their game as both teams sent down some great bowls but Peters skill stole many shots from his opponents.

Second place was Allan Bishop, Barry Ramm, Tony Samiotis and…..

L-R Peter, Kath, Kevin and Brian

(Next years winners) Julie, Geoff, Helga and Malcolm
